Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)
  • NAR issues RECs from your registered assets’ generation, enabling you to earn revenue by monetizing environmental attributes.
  • Each REC represents 1 MWh of generation delivered to the grid.
Hourly RECs
  • NAR pioneered the issuance and transaction of hourly RECs in 2022 through a collaboration with Google.
  • The Hourly program allows users to issue and transact RECs at an hourly level, and to sub-divide the generated hourly quantities to transact with multiple counterparties.
Zero Emission Certificates (ZECs)
  • Nuclear power producers can produce ZECs through NAR.
  • ZECs mirror the structure of traditional RECs, with each ZEC representing 1 MWh of emission-free energy delivered to the grid.
Register Assets & Report Generation

Generators register and gain approval. They then report verified clean energy production on an ongoing basis.

Issue & Transfer RECs

Certificates are created and transferred through a secure, traceable ledger.

Retire for Claims

Purchasers retire RECs to support emissions reduction claims and sustainability reporting.

Key Capabilities
  • Standardized REC issuance and lifecycle management
  • Chain-of-custody traceability with audit support
  • Alignment with state and provincial compliance programs and voluntary programs
